These values are not merely words but serve as guiding principles shaping the company's culture, interactions with guests and staff, as well as the company's overall growth trajectory. Sparrow Hotels prides itself on fostering an inclusive and empowering atmosphere that encourages collaboration and continuous improvement, making it a great place for employees who align with these values to thrive and develop their careers.
One of the establishments under the Sparrow Hotels umbrella is The Norwood Hotel, a distinguished and historic hotel with roots tracing back to the late 1800s. Notably, the hotel has been family-owned and operated by the Sparrow family since 1937, earning it the reputation as the oldest family-operated hotel in Manitoba and potentially the entirety of Western Canada. This legacy reflects the dedication and stability of the brand, emphasizing high standards of hospitality and exceptional guest experiences over decades.
Sparrow Hotels is currently seeking to hire a full-time Evening Line Cook at The Wood Tavern, a vibrant dining venue within this historic hotel. The role is ideal for culinary professionals who thrive in fast-paced kitchen environments and have a passion for delivering high-quality food with consistency and flair. As an Evening Line Cook, you will contribute to maintaining the reputation of The Wood Tavern by preparing dishes that excite and satisfy guests, ensuring the highest standards of taste, presentation, and hygiene.
This position involves working on a busy kitchen line during dinner service, where precision, speed, and teamwork are essential. The role requires close collaboration with fellow cooks, prep staff, and expeditors to ensure timely and accurate completion of orders. Attention to detail, adherence to food safety standards, and the ability to handle the pressures of a high-volume environment are key to success in this position.
Working at Sparrow Hotels offers more than just a job; it provides a dynamic and supportive work environment where employees can build their skills, earn additional income through tip-outs, and be part of a team dedicated to hospitality excellence. The company is proud to offer opportunities for growth while fostering a culture that values respect, leadership, and innovation. If you are a motivated culinary professional with at least three years of direct kitchen experience and a passion for quality cooking, this is an excellent opportunity to join a respected and historic venue where your contribution will be valued and your career development supported.
