Evening and Weekend Recreation Coordinator

Among these departments, the Recreation Services department offers numerous community-focused programs aimed at promoting well-being and engagement across various age groups. Center 50+ is a key facility operated by the City of Salem that specifically serves the senior population, fostering a welcoming environment for adults aged 50 and above. The center offers a wide range of programs, events, and activities designed to enhance community involvement, health, and social connections among older adults.

We are currently seeking a part-time Evening and Weekend Recreation Coordinator to join the team at Center 50+. This temporary, seasonal position offers flexible hours primarily during evenings and weekends, with an hourly wage ranging from $20.45 to $26.09. The role is perfect for individuals who enjoy community service, working with senior citizens, and coordinating recreational programs. The Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing recreational activities during these hours, supporting programs at the Center 50+ facility as well as off-site outreach locations. Key responsibilities include monitoring the facility during operating hours, assisting patrons and volunteers, supporting program staff, opening and securing the building, and managing clerical and custodial duties. This position also involves using the Point-of-Sale system for cash handling and ensuring a positive and engaging atmosphere for all participants.
