Job Description

Delta Air Lines is a leading global airline committed to connecting people and destinations around the world with exceptional service, safety, and reliability. Recognized as one of the most awarded airlines internationally, Delta prides itself on operational excellence and maintaining industry-leading safety standards. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Delta operates an extensive network of flights across six continents, supported by a culture that values the well-being of its employees and customers alike. With a firm commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, Delta continues to be a pioneer in the aviation industry and encourages career growth and development within its workforce.

The Evanston-based Flight Attendant position offers a unique opportunity to join Delta Air Lines’ dynamic team at a vibrant local hub. Situated in Evanston, Illinois, a city known for its rich cultural scene and proximity to Chicago, this role is crafted for individuals enthusiastic about travel, customer service, and safety. The position is a junior or trainee level career opportunity with competitive hourly wages ranging from $32 to $38, equating to approximately $72,800 annually. Benefits accompany the role, including eligibility for Delta’s comprehensive standard benefits package and clear career advancement pathways within the Evanston office.

As a Flight Attendant at Delta Air Lines, you are more than a customer service professional; you serve as a critical safety expert charged with the well-being of passengers aboard flights operating at altitudes of 35,000 feet. The role demands a strong commitment to safety, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced aviation environment. Every day brings a new set of challenges and rewards, from ensuring cabin safety and managing emergencies to delivering the hospitality and personalized care that distinguish Delta’s brand.

Flight Attendants at Delta are responsible for enforcing Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and performing safety protocols including pre-flight checks of emergency equipment, managing turbulent flight conditions, and executing emergency evacuations if necessary. They are trained to respond to in-flight medical situations using first aid, CPR, and AEDs while coordinating with the flight deck and ground medical teams. Beyond safety, the role requires flight attendants to provide premium customer service, anticipating passenger needs, managing meal and beverage service, and resolving any conflicts or special requests with empathy and professionalism.

Delta takes pride in fostering a collaborative work environment. As a Flight Attendant, you will interact regularly with diverse flight crews, gate agents, and pilots to ensure efficient and on-time flight operations. The company’s investment in employees extends beyond the flight experience, offering a Total Rewards package that includes global travel privileges for employees and their families, profit sharing, 401(k) plans with company contributions, and comprehensive health coverage from day one.

This role is ideal for compassionate, resilient individuals who seek a vibrant career in aviation and travel. Delta Air Lines in Evanston invites you to become part of a global family dedicated to connecting the world safely and warmly, while providing you with unparalleled opportunities for professional and personal growth.
