D.R. Horton is currently hiring an Escrow Assistant to join their Financial Services Escrow Branch. The Escrow Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and timely preparation of all escrow files and managing the ordering and receipt of all necessary documentation for closing escrow transactions. This position requires a detail-oriented individual capable of managing multiple administrative and customer service tasks within the escrow process.

The Escrow Assistant’s responsibilities include but are not limited to performing duties of an Escrow Receptionist, preparing and sending opening and thank you letters to involved parties, ordering title commitments and distributing them as needed, handling payoff and assumption statements, preparing receipts for funds received, ordering and processing wire transfers with proper instructions, clearing title requirements, and assembling loan packages for lender return. Additionally, the role involves preparing cash audits and pre-audits, assisting the branch manager with administrative tasks, and opening refinance orders.

Coordination and communication are key aspects of the role, including obtaining hazard insurance, scheduling and coordinating closing times, monitoring termite inspections and other required inspections, and answering questions from customers, real estate agents, and other stakeholders about transaction processes and file status. The Escrow Assistant must also be diligent in canceling files based on company procedures and supporting post-closing responsibilities such as ensuring the accuracy of pre-closing files, preparing and shipping closing packages, coordinating document recording in multiple counties, and issuing loan and owner’s policies along with endorsements when applicable.

This position further demands excellent organizational skills for maintaining control over closing files, managing the fee account checkbook, and overseeing the mailing stamp machine. The Escrow Assistant will interact with various parties, including lenders, buyers, attorneys, realtors, and insurance companies, providing exceptional customer service daily.

Candidates should possess an Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or have six months to one year of related experience or a comparable combination of education and experience. D.R. Horton offers candidates the opportunity to join a Fortune 500 company with a winning team.
