Cook Children's Health Care System (CCHCS) located in Fort Worth, Texas, is a world-renowned pediatric health care institution dedicated to providing exceptional medical services to children and their families in North Texas and beyond. Established with a commitment to advancing pediatric medicine, Cook Children's offers comprehensive healthcare solutions that span primary care, specialty care, and advanced medical interventions. The health system encompasses multiple facilities, including the main hospital in Fort Worth, specialized outpatient clinics, urgent care centers, and innovative medical campuses like the recently opened Prosper campus. With a strong focus on family-centered care, cutting-edge research, and community outreach, Cook Children's is recognized for its multidisciplinary approach and dedication to improving the lives of children with complex medical needs. The system prides itself on a collaborative environment where medical professionals work closely to deliver compassionate care supported by the latest technology and research breakthroughs. Their commitment extends to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace culture that encourages professional growth and long-term career satisfaction for their employees.
The role available is for a board certified or board eligible child neurologist with subspecialty training in epilepsy to join the growing Neurology team at Cook Children's Medical Center (CCMC) Prosper campus in Prosper, Texas. This junior physician position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and established neurology group currently consisting of two providers. The Prosper campus is a state-of-the-art facility opened in 2022, equipped with a free-standing children’s hospital, multispecialty outpatient clinics, and an urgent care center, offering comprehensive pediatric services including emergency care, medical and surgical units, and operating rooms.
The child neurologist will primarily provide outpatient clinic services and inpatient consultations, managing a diverse caseload of general neurology and epilepsy patients. The role benefits from close collaboration with the larger neurology team at the CCMC main campus in Fort Worth, offering opportunities to consult with specialists in neuro-immunology, neuromuscular disorders, movement disorders, surgical epilepsy, stroke, neuro-oncology, and headache. The candidate will also be contributing to the upcoming expansion of the program with a new four-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) soon to open at the Prosper campus.
The position involves a manageable on-call schedule of one night on call for every five nights and one weekend call for every five weekends, allowing for a balanced professional and personal life. Diagnostic resources such as video EEG, MRI, and neuropsychology are readily available onsite, with referrals to the main campus epilepsy group for surgical workups. Cook Children's is committed to securing a candidate who aligns with the institution's cultural and social values, emphasizing a long-term fit within both the medical staff and the community. The role offers an excellent environment for a physician looking to establish or grow their pediatric neurology career in a supportive, high-quality care setting focused on making a meaningful impact in children's healthcare.
