The role of Environmental Technician II at Clean Earth involves hands-on operational responsibilities that are critical to the proper management of waste streams. This position requires a thorough understanding of waste types and treatment processes. Environmental Technician II is responsible for processing and treating waste onsite using specialized equipment such as pit mixers, drum pumps, forklifts (hi-los), and wheel loaders. This role includes tasks like pit mixing, drum pumping, drum dumping, and safely operating various types of industrial equipment to manage inbound waste.

Beyond equipment operation, the Environmental Technician II must maintain meticulous records, completing necessary paperwork in compliance with company procedures and regulatory standards. Attention to detail and proactive communication are essential for identifying and resolving issues related to inbound waste loads. This role also requires the ability to collect and test waste samples for compatibility, ensuring waste is handled safely and legally.

Starting pay for this position is $26 hourly, reflecting the specialized skills and responsibilities required. Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of prior experience working with hazardous materials
  • Ability to operate equipment, including a forklift and pallet jack
  • Ability to wear company provided personal protection equipment including eye protection, steel toed shoes, hard hat, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator
  • Have the ability to read, write and speak in English
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be able to work indoor and outdoor in all weather conditions

Job Qualifications

  • 2+ years of prior experience working with hazardous materials
  • Ability to operate equipment, including a forklift and pallet jack
  • Ability to wear company provided personal protection equipment including eye protection, steel toed shoes, hard hat, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator
  • Have the ability to read, write and speak in English
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be able to work indoor and outdoor in all weather conditions
  • Proficiency with Windows based programs (i.e. Excel and Word)
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and RCRA regulations
  • Has the ability to operate a powered industrial truck, e.g., forklift and possesses safe driving record
  • Able to work in a team environment or alone based on business needs
  • Good attendance record and safe work history
  • Able to operate end loader or back hoe

Job Duties

  • Complete required paperwork in accordance with our practices and procedures
  • Collect samples of inbound waste for compatibility
  • Unload bulk liquid trucks to proper tank
  • Resolve and report issues with inbound loads
  • Operate hi-lo and end loaders in a safe manner
  • Have knowledge of our waste streams and their treatment protocol
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by management
