Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
  • Basic computer skills preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Able to operate small electrical equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance
  • Willingness to follow infection control and safety policies
  • Commitment to attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely and appropriately
  • Ability to perform physically demanding duties involving walking, standing, bending, climbing, and lifting

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
  • Basic computer skills preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English including reading and understanding chemical labels
  • Knowledge of infection control policies
  • Ability to operate small electrical equipment like vacuum cleaners

  • Ability to follow safety regulations and hospital policies

Job Duties

  • Clean and disinfect assigned areas including patient rooms and common hospital spaces
  • Operate cleaning equipment according to department procedures
  • Use chemicals and solutions following department policies
  • Maintain orderly, clean, and safe work areas
  • Display positive and supportive attitude towards patients, families, and staff
  • Follow patient discharge cleaning protocols including washing beds and sanitizing rooms
  • Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue
  • Collect and dispose of waste including hazardous and medical waste according to infection control guidelines
  • Prepare cleaning and disinfecting solutions following established formulas
  • Move and arrange furniture and equipment in accordance with floor plans
  • Attend mandatory departmental and hospital meetings and training sessions
  • Maintain proper attendance and punctuality
  • Report safety hazards and equipment needing repair
