Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
prior experience in custodial or janitorial services
physical ability to perform continuous walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
ability to operate industrial cleaning equipment
willingness to use personal protective equipment
ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions
ability to comply with safety protocols and procedures

Job Qualifications

Experience in janitorial or custodial work
ability to operate cleaning machinery and equipment
physical strength and stamina to perform demanding tasks
knowledge of safety and sanitation standards
ability to follow directions accurately
ability to work independently with minimal supervision
experience in a healthcare or medical facility environment preferred

Job Duties

Perform janitorial and custodial services within the VA Medical Center
operate heavy powered cleaning equipment such as industrial buffers and wall washers
maintain cleanliness of floors, walls, windows, and other surfaces
properly dispose of waste materials in compliance with medical center regulations
use personal protective equipment to handle exposure to infectious materials
follow established safety protocols and instructions from supervisor
work with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of hygiene and sanitation
