The University of Miami Hospital (UTower) is actively seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Technician to join their Environmental Services Department on a full-time basis. This role is classified under the H1 pay grade and is a full-time staff position. The Environmental Services Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the hospital’s sanitary, safe, and orderly environment by performing essential cleaning functions across the facility. The technician follows established cleaning protocols, using only approved supplies and chemicals to ensure a high standard of hygiene and safety. This position requires adherence to strict safety guidelines including fire safety, waste disposal, dress code, and confidentiality regarding patient information.

As an Environmental Services Technician, the individual will also be responsible for identifying areas in need of special cleaning or repairs, reporting these promptly to supervisors. Maintaining equipment and organizing supplies is also part of the role, ensuring that operations run smoothly. Working in a hospital environment, the technician must consistently uphold the University and unit-level policies and protect University assets. Job Requirements

  • One-year experience as a housekeeper in the hotel, motel, commercial, industrial sanitation or health care related field
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
