This role is a vital part of TriHealth's commitment to maintaining exceptional cleanliness and sanitary conditions throughout its facilities. The position works under the direct supervision of the floor supervisor and is responsible for ensuring that patient areas, offices, public and private restrooms, and specialized rooms are impeccably clean and sanitized. Responsibilities include surface cleaning and wet mopping to preserve a hygienic environment crucial for patient safety and comfort. Tasks are routinely completed daily or as needed, highlighting the importance of consistency and attention to detail.

The role requires knowledge of cleaning equipment and techniques, with a particular emphasis on correctly maintaining isolation rooms and high-risk areas such as laboratories using appropriate personal protective equipment. The individual will also manage waste disposal including infectious waste according to established protocols, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Efficiency in time management, adherence to scheduled breaks and prompt response to workplace requests are essential components of the role. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to leave work areas and equipment clean and organized, supporting the teamwork culture at TriHealth.

Employees in this role must be physically capable of performing a variety of activities such as climbing, lifting weights over 50 pounds, constant standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and using hands frequently. The role also includes responsibilities requiring visual acuity, occasional kneeling, stooping, and talking. Job Duties

  • Goes to assigned area immediately after receiving daily work sheet, supplies and keys
  • does not leave work area earlier than 10 minutes before the end of the shift
  • adheres to scheduled lunch/break times
  • promptly responds to calls
  • notifies supervisor when assignments are completed
  • uses proper procedures when cleaning isolation rooms using personal protective clothing and equipment
  • uses proper techniques for cleaning labs or high-risk areas
  • cleans floors, sinks, commodes, showers, tubs, all furniture including fabric and upholstered
  • performs high and low dusting of all surfaces, windows, sills, mirrors, walls, tile, specialized equipment
  • cleans and replenishes all dispensers with soap and paper products
  • cleans housekeeping closets and equipment
  • removes and properly disposes of all waste including regular, recyclable and infectious waste
  • cleans waste cans inside and out and relines with appropriate liner
  • leaves the work area and equipment clean and organized
  • works as a team player
