Environmental Services Specialist - Pool Position

This part-time Environmental Services Technician role at Rogers Behavioral Health involves servicing all facility buildings with a primary emphasis on general housekeeping duties and infection control, which constitute approximately 80 percent of the job responsibilities. The position is structured to provide essential cleaning and sanitation that supports a safe and hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The role requires adherence to strict hospital policies, safety protocols, and environmental services standards. It includes a pool position with occasional weekend coverage from 11am to 7:30pm, working approximately 16 hours per week. Candidates will need to be punctual, professional, and committed to maintaining patient confidentiality and respectful communication.

Key responsibilities include comprehensive cleaning of designated areas such as bathrooms, offices, patient rooms, and common spaces. Duties incorporate deep cleaning tasks such as changing linens after patient discharge, transporting linens, managing recyclable materials, and ensuring all work complies with safety and procedural standards. The position demands wearing personal protective equipment when handling chemicals or operating machinery.

Beyond housekeeping, the role functions within a multidisciplinary team, assisting staff with challenging or agitated patients and participating in training and orientation of new staff members. Candidates are expected to engage in performance improvement projects and communicate consistently with unit or program managers. Educationally, candidates should ideally have a high school diploma or GED, with advanced vocational or technical education strongly preferred.
