The role of Environmental Services Technician at Sanford Health plays a crucial part in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within patient and resident areas. This position supports the overall mission of health and healing by ensuring infection control and hygiene standards are rigorously met throughout the facility. Working primarily during evening shifts, this role involves responsibilities such as cleaning patient rooms, hallways, lounges, restrooms, and other public and clinical spaces using appropriate cleaning methods and tools. The position requires physical stamina and the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as the capability to be on feet for the majority of the shift.

Additionally, these technicians are responsible for proper use of protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols to limit exposure to hazards and ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The role may also involve assisting in laundry operations and the use of technology to communicate during shifts. The schedule typically includes 8-hour evening shifts with a commitment of 20 scheduled weekly hours, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays. The pay range for this union-exempt position is between $15.00 and $22.50 per hour, reflecting Sanford Health’s dedication to offering competitive wages in a supportive work environment.

Overall, the Environmental Services Technician at Sanford Health contributes to a hygienic, orderly setting that promotes patient recovery and comfort. This entry-level position is critical to the healthcare team and is ideal for individuals with a background in housekeeping or commercial cleaning, particularly those with experience in healthcare environments.
