Job Description

Lutheran Life Villages is a respected senior living community dedicated to providing compassionate care and high-quality services to its residents. With a mission rooted in the expression of Christ's love, Lutheran Life Villages strives to serve individuals and their caregivers with respect, compassion, and support for their independence, wellness, and spiritual life. This organization is committed to creating a welcoming and safe environment where residents can enjoy comfortable and dignified living.

The housekeeper (EVS Assistant) role at Lutheran Life Villages is much more than standard cleaning duties. It combines environmental services with resident engagement, emphasizing the importance of creating a clean, safe, and inviting atmosphere for seniors. This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout the facility, including common areas, employee and resident lounges, hallways, bathrooms, and resident rooms. Additionally, the housekeeping role incorporates laundry services both for residents and the broader campus needs, ensuring linens and clothing are clean, organized, and properly managed.

This full-time position typically works from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with shifts every other weekend, providing a stable schedule for employees. The role demands attention to detail, physical stamina, and a genuine commitment to service excellence. Housekeepers at Lutheran Life Villages not only maintain physical cleanliness but also contribute to the overall wellbeing of residents by engaging with them respectfully and compassionately. Responsibilities include dusting, mopping, sanitizing bathroom fixtures, cleaning windows and carpets, managing waste, and ensuring all work areas are orderly and properly stocked.

Laundry duties are a crucial component as well and include sorting soiled linens, operating washers and dryers, folding, and delivering clean laundry to the appropriate areas. The role often requires washing residents' personal laundry upon request, maintaining linen closets, cleaning laundry equipment, and ensuring the timely supply of linens on the halls. Housekeepers are instrumental in creating a hygienic and pleasant ambiance, which directly impacts residents' satisfaction and comfort.

Lutheran Life Villages offers an impressive benefits package that includes competitive wages with shift differentials, various incentives, and eligibility for medical, dental, and vision insurance within 30 days of employment. Employees receive life insurance, short-term disability, access to an employee assistance program, education assistance, paid time off, and paid holidays. Moreover, they provide a 403B retirement savings plan with an employer match and host frequent campus events to foster community among staff and residents.

Additional unique benefits include birthday paid time off and 14 holidays paid at time and a half when worked, enhancing work-life balance and recognizing employee contributions. Working for Lutheran Life Villages means joining a team dedicated to service, supported by a compassionate network that values commitment to excellence and community-oriented care. The role is ideal for individuals who have a keen eye for cleanliness, enjoy working in a community-focused setting, and want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults. This position supports the mission of Lutheran Life Villages to serve with compassion and respect, ensuring residents experience quality living in a spiritually nurturing environment.
