The Custodial Services Worker role at Baylor Scott and White College Station, provided through Aramark, is a vital position focused on maintaining cleanliness and safety in healthcare environments. This position operates in three shifts: 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and 11:00 pm to 7:00 am, allowing flexibility for various schedules. The primary responsibility is ensuring patient, client, and customer satisfaction by performing thorough cleaning and sanitizing of assigned areas according to Aramark and client-specific standards. The role requires adherence to established safety procedures, including compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations to promote a safe working environment.

The duties involve cleaning patient and resident rooms, including tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, bed making, stripping beds, and proper removal of hazardous and general waste. Additionally, restrooms must be sanitized following strict infection control protocols. The worker is responsible for maintaining and cleaning housekeeping equipment properly, managing trash disposal, and reporting any necessary maintenance concerns through appropriate channels. A customer-focused demeanor is essential, requiring a friendly, efficient, and adaptable approach when interacting with patients, clients, co-workers, and customers alike.

Security responsibilities also form part of this role, ensuring the facility is secured by locking and unlocking buildings as required and protecting company assets. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous custodial experience preferred
  • Able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and extended walking and standing
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to work various shifts including nights
  • Strong work ethic
  • Reliable and punctual

Job Duties

  • Adheres to established procedures to provide a safe working environment including aligning with OSHA, state/local, federal, and Aramark regulations
  • Performs cleaning and sanitizing of patient/resident rooms, including vacuuming, dusting, bed making and stripping, and removal of general and hazardous waste
  • Cleans restrooms following proper infection control procedures
  • Accurately maintains and cleans housekeeping equipment
  • Cleans assigned areas to Aramark and client standards and requirements
  • Follows procedures for storage and disposal of trash and transports it to designated areas
  • Reports maintenance concerns via work order requests to appropriate personnel
  • Maintains friendly, efficient, positive customer service demeanor toward customers, clients, patients, and co-workers
  • Secures the facility, ensuring building is locked/unlocked as required
  • Ensures security of company assets
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by manager
