Sodexo is a global leader in providing comprehensive integrated services that enhance the quality of life for individuals and communities alike. With expertise spanning food services, facilities management, healthcare technology management, patient experience services, and environmental services, Sodexo partners with organizations worldwide to create positive and lasting impacts. In the healthcare sector, Sodexo is recognized for its commitment to elevating patient and staff experiences by delivering clean, safe, and efficient environments and services that promote health and well-being. The company actively fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace culture where employees are valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their best. Sodexo's core values emphasize fairness, respect, equal opportunity, and a commitment to environmental and social progress within the communities where they operate.
The Environmental Services/Custodial Operations Manager 2 role at Sodexo is specifically designed for a healthcare account located in Tallahassee, FL, at the Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare system. This healthcare system is a large complex consisting of a 750-bed main hospital campus and 24 additional outlying buildings, encompassing over 2.5 million square feet. The position focuses on leading the housekeeping team during the evening shift, typically from about 2 PM to 12 AM, including weekend and holiday shifts when necessary. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the manager will be instrumental in overseeing the delivery of custodial services that ensure a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and healthcare staff.
In this role, the Environmental Services/Custodial Operations Manager will be responsible for managing operational efficiency by effectively implementing cleaning protocols, coordinating schedules, and maintaining compliance with healthcare infection prevention standards. The manager will collaborate closely with various stakeholders including the Infectious Control department, Environment of Care Committee, and Infection Prevention Director to ensure that the hospital environment meets or exceeds regulatory and client satisfaction standards. Driving high client and patient satisfaction scores is a key objective, which necessitates thorough attention to detail and a proactive leadership approach. Furthermore, the manager will oversee the Unit Operating System, which involves tracking performance metrics, ensuring procedural compliance, and leading quality improvement initiatives.
This position also offers potential eligibility for a sign-on bonus, alongside a competitive salary that reflects factors such as education, relevant experience, training, and skills. Sodexo offers a robust benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision care, wellness programs, a 401(k) plan with company matching, paid time off, company holidays, and opportunities for career growth and tuition reimbursement. Sodexo supports employees’ continuous development and work-life balance by encouraging a nurturing and collaborative work environment.
Overall, this role is ideal for individuals with a background in housekeeping, environmental services, or custodial management in healthcare settings who exhibit strong leadership qualities, data-driven decision-making capabilities, and a commitment to safety and quality. By joining Sodexo in this capacity, professionals have the opportunity to impact patient experiences positively while contributing to a cleaner and safer healthcare environment that aligns with Sodexo’s mission of creating a better everyday for everyone.
