Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to communicate effectively by phone and verbally
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets
- Ability to fill out chemical identification stickers
- For Crisis Response Center assignments, ability to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests required

- Effective verbal and phone communication skills
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and use of cleaning chemicals
- Ability to fill out chemical identification stickers
- Previous related experience is preferred
- Familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques is preferred
- Additional related education and experience is preferred
Job Duties
- Performs a variety of assigned cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures
- Plans the completion of daily cleaning tasks
- Empties hampers and transports soiled linen
- Empties trash containers and removes all trash including all medical waste containers and sharps
- Inventories, restocks and replenishes supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap in assigned areas
- Maintains cleanliness of departmental equipment and reports necessary repairs
- Protects and properly logs out and in cleaning equipment
- May perform special projects such as window washing, wall washing, and removal of heavily soiled items or furnishings
- Responds to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors
- Meets or exceeds customer service satisfaction goals
- Performs all duties following established policies, procedures, regulatory, and accreditation requirements
- Demonstrates core and leader behaviors to provide excellent service experience
