Job Requirements

  • Ability to work flexible shifts including days, afternoons, evenings, and late evenings
  • Availability to work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Physical capability to perform full body motions including lifting, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting and reaching
  • Capability for continuous walking and standing on hard surfaces
  • Regular handling and use of disinfectants and cleaning chemicals
  • Completion of one to three months on-the-job training
  • Adherence to standard precautions and use of personal protective equipment as required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior experience in cleaning or environmental services preferred but not required
  • Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Physical ability to perform duties requiring bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
  • Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Job Duties

  • Clean patient rooms, ancillary areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms, discharge rooms and other assigned areas
  • Stock paper items and other supplies in patient rooms, exam rooms and restrooms
  • Follow scripting, policies and procedures on patient isolation and all Environmental Services technical and procedural standard operating procedures
  • Follow and adhere to all hospital-wide and departmental safety requirements
  • Complete one to three months of on-the-job training to learn departmental policies and procedures, various cleaning techniques and proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals
