Job Requirements
- Ability to work flexible shifts including days, afternoons, evenings, and late evenings
- Availability to work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
- Physical capability to perform full body motions including lifting, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting and reaching
- Capability for continuous walking and standing on hard surfaces
- Regular handling and use of disinfectants and cleaning chemicals
- Completion of one to three months on-the-job training
- Adherence to standard precautions and use of personal protective equipment as required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior experience in cleaning or environmental services preferred but not required
- Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions and procedures
- Strong attention to detail
- Physical ability to perform duties requiring bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
- Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Job Duties
- Clean patient rooms, ancillary areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms, discharge rooms and other assigned areas
- Stock paper items and other supplies in patient rooms, exam rooms and restrooms
- Follow scripting, policies and procedures on patient isolation and all Environmental Services technical and procedural standard operating procedures
- Follow and adhere to all hospital-wide and departmental safety requirements
- Complete one to three months of on-the-job training to learn departmental policies and procedures, various cleaning techniques and proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals
