Job Description
Kindred Hospital Aurora is a specialized long-term acute care hospital located in Aurora, Colorado, known for providing high-quality extended care to patients requiring prolonged medical attention. This all-private room, 37-bed facility offers comprehensive health services with a focus on wound care, pulmonary care, and ventilator patient management, ensuring personalized and intensive support throughout the patient's recovery journey. Positioned conveniently at the junction of I-225 and 6th Avenue on the east side of the Denver metroplex, the hospital resides on the second floor of the Medical Center of Aurora North building, making it easily accessible for patients and healthcare professionals alike.
At Kindred Hospital Aurora, the emphasis lies in delivering continuous clinical care through dedicated healthcare teams available around the clock, every day of the week. This commitment to exceptional service, alongside partnerships with physicians, ensures patients receive tailored treatment plans within a comfortable, supportive environment. By integrating traditional hospital standards into a long-term care model, the hospital bridges the gap between acute care and rehabilitation, focusing on restoring health and independence for patients with complex medical needs.
The role available at Kindred Hospital Aurora involves performing crucial environmental services that are vital to maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary hospital environment. The position entails cleaning and servicing building areas, as well as handling furniture, equipment, and supplies with great care and organization. This role supports the hospital's mission by ensuring all patient areas, restrooms, and common spaces meet stringent cleanliness standards, which contributes directly to infection control and patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities include selecting appropriate cleaning materials and preparing solutions, managing cleaning carts, and executing thorough cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming carpets, and sanitizing surfaces. Additionally, this position requires collecting and disposing of waste, replenishing supplies, and occasional handling of hazardous materials with strict adherence to safety protocols. The role may also involve setting up furniture for meetings and community events, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to support various hospital functions beyond basic cleaning duties.
Successful candidates must possess good communication skills, regular attendance, and the ability to follow detailed instructions, particularly regarding the use of cleaning agents and hospital sanitation guidelines. Proficiency in English is essential to understand material safety instructions and workplace protocols. Experience in an acute care setting is preferred but not mandatory, and a high school diploma or equivalent is generally expected to qualify for this position. Kindred Hospital Aurora offers a competitive wage of $18.81 per hour along with an attractive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), flexible spending accounts, life insurance, paid time off, and wellness programs, underscoring the organization's investment in its employees' well-being and professional growth.
