Job Description

MarinHealth is a leading integrated and independent healthcare system deeply rooted in the North Bay region of California, known for its commitment to innovation and excellence in medical care. The system includes MarinHealth Medical Center, a 327-bed state-of-the-art hospital located in Greenbrae, and a network of 55 primary care and specialty clinics spanning Marin, Sonoma, and Napa Counties. Affiliated with UCSF Health, MarinHealth blends pioneering academic medicine with the personalized care typical of an independent hospital. This unique combination allows it to attract some of healthcare's most talented professionals who are passionate about advancing patient care through innovation and compassion.

MarinHealth has been recognized nationally for its high standards in healthcare delivery, consistently achieving accolades such as being named one of the Top 250 Hospitals Nationwide by Healthgrades, receiving a 5-star overall hospital quality ranking from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and being voted the Best Hospital in the San Francisco/Marin area by Bay Area Parent magazine. These honors reflect its dedication to patient safety, quality care, and community health outcomes.

The current opportunity is for a dedicated Cleaning Technician to join the hospital's environmental services team and contribute to maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of patient care areas and public spaces. This role is essential in supporting the hospital's mission of providing a safe, hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The position involves daily cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, restocking supplies, and thorough disinfecting of surfaces using hospital-approved products and procedures. The Cleaning Technician plays a vital role in complying with health and safety regulations set by Marin County, the California Department of Public Health, and The Joint Commission, helping to prevent infections and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.

This full-time, 40-hour per week evening shift role offers a compensation range of $27.47 to $34.74 per hour. The successful candidate will be empowered to follow established procedures, engage cooperatively with staff across departments, and demonstrate flexibility in handling various cleaning assignments. Additionally, the role calls for participation in ongoing training such as Integrative Agitation Management within 30 days of hire to ensure workplace safety and effective interaction within patient areas. While not a patient care position, the Cleaning Technician’s work directly impacts patient experiences and outcomes by contributing to a clean and safe healthcare environment.

MarinHealth fosters a work culture based on the C.A.R.E.S. standards — Communication, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Safety — which underpin its dedication to a healing and trust-based environment. Employees are encouraged to uphold these values, promoting teamwork and integrity in daily activities.

All qualified applicants are welcomed without discrimination, and MarinHealth is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities. The organization mandates certain immunizations such as measles, mumps, varicella, and annual influenza as a condition of employment, with COVID-19 vaccinations strongly recommended.

Joining MarinHealth means becoming part of a rapidly growing healthcare system passionate about innovation and community care. This cleaning technician role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a highly respected institution recognized for its quality and patient-centered approach while earning a competitive wage and engaging in meaningful work that supports health and well-being.
