Job Description
Allina Health is a renowned non-profit health care system committed to providing exceptional and compassionate care to communities across the United States. Established with a mission to serve patients with excellence, Allina Health encompasses a wide network of hospitals, clinics, specialty care services, and community health programs. The organization’s core values emphasize teamwork, integrity, and innovation, aiming to create a supportive environment for patients, employees, and healthcare providers alike. With a focus on well-being and holistic care, Allina Health continuously strives to enhance patient outcomes by fostering a culture where every individual feels valued and empowered.
The Environmental Services Aide role at Allina Health is integral to maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and welcoming atmosphere of its healthcare facilities. This permanent night shift position requires the aide to perform a variety of cleaning and sanitation tasks across patient rooms, operating rooms, exam spaces, treatment centers, and public areas to ensure a hygienic environment conducive to healing. The responsibility extends to managing both solid and infectious waste safely, as well as maintaining linen inventory standards. Working under the SEIU-4 United Service Workers union agreement, this role offers a competitive hourly pay range of $20.95 to $27.23 with possible shift and weekend differential pay. The Environmental Services Aide not only contributes to the physical upkeep of the facility but also supports the overall patient experience by preventing contamination and infection through diligent cleaning practices. This position occasionally requires lifting weights up to 50 lbs and involves operating specialized cleaning equipment like auto scrub machines. It also includes routine monitoring and reporting of safety hazards and repair needs to promote a safe working and healing environment. As part of a dedicated team, the Environmental Services Aide plays a vital role in the smooth operation of healthcare services, ensuring care providers and patients can focus on health without concerns about facility cleanliness. The position operates on an occasional weekend rotation and offers a casual employment status with 8-hour night shifts, supporting flexible work schedules. This opportunity is tailored for individuals passionate about contributing to healthcare quality beyond clinical roles, by fostering cleanliness, organization, and environmental safety in a respected healthcare setting.
