  • ability to lift, push, and pull 20 pounds regularly

  • ability to operate various cleaning equipment including upright and canister vacuums
  • ability to operate furniture-moving equipment such as desk movers and file cabinet movers
  • ability to work mandatory overtime when requested

Job Duties

  • Dry cleans bonnets
  • cleans and wets carpet and furniture
  • auto scrubs terrazzo
  • scrubs ceramic tile and cleans other floor types following manufacturers recommendations
  • collects regulated medical waste and solid waste and transports to disposal/holding area using prescribed methods and infection control procedures
  • responds quickly to patient discharge room cleaning requests
  • keeps supervisor updated on status of tasks completed
  • helps co-workers as needed
  • performs as a team member
  • provides comments and ideas on work process improvements
  • follows established break procedures and stays in assigned area
  • demonstrates thorough, detailed cleaning and high-quality finished products
  • completes daily work assignments and work orders
  • communicates areas needing improvement to supervisor
  • demonstrates AIDET customer service model through patient and customer engagement
  • performs cleaning functions following 7-Step Cleaning Procedure
  • mixes cleaning agents according to instructions
  • empties and cleans waste receptacles
  • removes soiled linen and delivers to proper locations
  • cleans and disinfects beds and remakes them
  • dusts high horizontal surfaces and cleans horizontal surfaces and equipment using approved agents
  • mops and dries floors and vacuums carpets using HEPA-filtered vacuums
  • spot cleans walls, cabinet sides, windows, doors, and door frames
  • polishes metal fixtures and cleans surfaces free of fingerprints and smudges
  • cleans restroom fixtures and polishes chrome/metal fixtures
  • keeps janitor closet clean and orderly
  • replenishes supplies in areas
  • adjusts draperies, shades, and blinds
  • arranges furniture
  • cleans spills and reports needed repairs
  • maintains assigned equipment for cleanliness and safety
  • submits work orders as needed
  • sets up cleaning carts according to policy
