The role of Housekeeping Staff under direct supervision involves maintaining an assigned area within the hospital in a sanitary and orderly manner, strictly adhering to departmental and regulatory standards. This position is critical in supporting the hospital’s operational efficiency and patient care quality by ensuring cleanliness and safety in various hospital environments. The Housekeeping Staff will perform tasks such as assembling cleaning supplies, performing a variety of cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing, polishing, and preparing cleaning solutions as instructed. Additionally, responsibilities include routine discharge room cleaning, proper handling of soiled linens, notifying maintenance needs, and handling equipment storage.
This role requires individuals with the ability to work effectively under time constraints and as part of a team, along with the interpersonal skills necessary to courteously interact with patients, visitors, and hospital staff. Knowledge of patient and workforce safety is essential to perform duties in a manner that protects both patients and employees. The Housekeeping Staff must demonstrate competency in meeting age-specific patient needs and deliver cleaning services with attention to established protocols and guidelines.
Compensation for this position ranges from $15.00 to $20.00 per hour, with the final salary offer determined by the candidate’s qualifications, education, relevant experience, and organizational alignment. Job Requirements

Job Duties
- Assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment
- loads utility cart and transports to work areas after receiving instructions
- cleans assigned areas by performing housekeeping duties including cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing, polishing
- inspects area upon completion to ensure cleanliness
- prepares cleaning solutions according to written instructions
- performs routine discharge room cleaning including handling soiled linens and remaking beds
- notifies team leader of maintenance repairs needed
- cleans and stores equipment regularly
- logs on and off Interserv and logs tasks per policy
