The position is part-time or full-time within the hospital's environmental services department. The pay range for this position is $15.00 to $20.00 per hour, with the final offer dependent on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, and alignment with organizational needs.\n\nThe Housekeeper plays a critical role in ensuring that the hospital environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming for patients, visitors, and staff. Key responsibilities include assembling cleaning supplies and equipment, performing sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing, and polishing duties, and preparing cleaning solutions as per instructions. The Housekeeper will also conduct routine discharge room cleaning, which involves removing soiled linens and remaking beds with fresh linens in a timely and prescribed manner. Additionally, this role involves inspecting completed work to verify cleanliness standards are met, notifying team leaders about necessary maintenance repairs, and properly storing equipment. Proficiency in logging tasks using the Interserv system is required as part of the role’s documentation process.\n\nCandidates must demonstrate the ability to work efficiently under time constraints and exhibit strong teamwork and communication skills. Courteous interaction with patients, visitors, and hospital staff while performing housekeeping duties is essential to create a positive and professional environment. Furthermore, the Housekeeper must be knowledgeable about patient and workplace safety protocols and demonstrate competency in providing age-appropriate care or services, reflecting sensitivity to the diverse needs of the hospital’s patient population. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment
  • loads utility cart and transports same to work areas after receiving instructions as to area and specific work assignment
  • cleans assigned areas by performing a variety of housekeeping duties including cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing, polishing
  • inspects area upon completion of cleaning to ensure appropriate levels of cleanliness have been achieved
  • prepares cleaning solutions according to written instructions on label
  • performs routine discharge room cleaning per established guidelines including removing soiled linen and remaking beds
  • notifies team leader of needed maintenance repairs in assigned area
  • cleans and stores equipment regularly
  • logs on and off Interserv per GBMC policy and logs tasks as required
