Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, Science or related field
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in environmental health and safety
  • Demonstrated experience with emergency response and compliance with EHS regulations
  • Proven ability to develop and implement safety programs and training
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external agencies
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Willingness to work at any of the specified Google campus locations including Playa Vista, California

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, Science or a related field
  • Five years of experience in EHS including environmental compliance, employee and workplace safety, and emergency preparedness
  • Experience in emergency response and knowledge of EHS regulations and standards
  • Experience developing and implementing environmental health and safety programs, procedures, training, guidance documents, and job aids with cross-functional teams
  • Preferred certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
  • Experience collaborating with facilities, security, property managers, regulatory agencies and emergency responders
  • Experience managing campus operations with focus on compliance, permitting, employee safety, and emergency management
  • Knowledge of fire and life safety codes and regulations
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work in complex, ambiguous environments
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Act as an expert and advisor on EHS topics and workplace safety such as employee health, incident response, environmental compliance, and emergency response
  • Implement global EHS operations in partnership with REWS, Product Areas, and Business Unit Leaders
  • Develop analytics and reports based on injury, illness, hazard, and inspection data
  • Coordinate incident investigations and communicable illness response
  • Support large scale events for safety management and response
  • Partner with Google security and facilities on daily health and safety incident management
  • Promote a culture of safety, security, and resiliency throughout Google campuses
