This makes it an attractive workplace for exceptional candidates who seek a mission-driven organization that supports employee growth and well-being. The system’s approach to healthcare emphasizes compassion, teamwork, and innovation, ensuring that every employee has the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patient care and the overall success of the institution.
The role available at Summa Health System is a PRN position on the first shift focused on environmental services, specifically performing both specialized and routine cleaning throughout the hospital and professional office buildings. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The job requires operating specialized machines and employing specific cleaning techniques to meet high standards of hygiene and infection control. Candidates must be able to understand and follow directions carefully and possess strong teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with patient care teams and support staff. They should also be able to contribute beyond basic duties by taking initiative, suggesting new ideas, and providing constructive feedback to improve processes.
Work in this role involves exposure to various challenging situations, including potential contact with odors, blood, body fluids, sharps, and other hazardous materials. It demands strong physical stamina as employees are required to exert significant force occasionally and for long durations, including standing and walking on their feet during the entire shift while pushing, pulling loaded carts, and lifting equipment and materials. Safety and compliance with environmental policies and procedures are paramount. Summa Health offers a competitive salary range of $16.60 to $19.92 per hour, which considers experience and geographic factors. The compensation package includes comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision insurance, life coverage, paid time off, and more. This employment opportunity is an equal opportunity for veterans and individuals with disabilities, underscoring Summa Health’s commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workforce.
This position is ideal for candidates who are dedicated to supporting patient care through maintaining a clean and healthy environment, are physically capable, and are motivated to be a proactive and collaborative team member.
