The part-time Environmental Services role at Our Lady of Mercy is crucial in supporting the facility’s mission by ensuring a clean, orderly, and safe physical environment. This position works primarily during day shifts, assisting with general housekeeping duties as well as more specialized floor care tasks. The responsibilities extend beyond daily cleaning to include collaboration with supervisors, assisting in operational planning, scheduling staff, managing inventory, and helping to implement special projects. This role requires an individual who can efficiently manage their duties while maintaining compliance with infection control policies, demonstrating responsibility and attentiveness to detail throughout their work. Furthermore, the candidate will be expected to communicate effectively with various departments and personnel within the organization to facilitate a clean and safe environment that meets the healthcare standards.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Perform general housekeeping and floor care duties
  • Assist the Supervisor with planning, scheduling, staff oversight, inventory, and special projects
  • Coordinate with Supervisor to ensure cleanliness of buildings
  • Thoroughly clean rooms following training policies
  • Comply with infection control policies and procedures
  • Maintain good working relationships and communicate with other departments, residents, families, and staff
  • Respond pleasantly to all requests
  • Communicate problems encountered during routine to Housekeeping Supervisor
  • Perform any other duties assigned by Housekeeping Supervisor or Director
  • Demonstrate SPHP Standards of Behavior
