Job Description
CareWell Health is a reputable healthcare organization dedicated to providing exceptional medical services and maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors. As a leading healthcare provider, CareWell Health is committed to upholding the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation in all its facilities. The Environmental Services department plays a crucial role in this commitment, ensuring that all areas within the healthcare setting are disinfected and maintained to prevent the spread of infections and enhance patient care experiences. This department is integral to the overall health and safety of the institution, supporting the clinical teams by providing a clean and safe environment.
The role of the Housekeeper / Environmental Services staff at CareWell Health focuses on maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout patient and non-patient areas. This is a full-time, regular daytime position with scheduled hours from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, primarily involving duties that are critical to infection control and sanitation efforts within the hospital. Individuals in this position are expected to work holidays and weekends when necessary to provide continuous coverage and uphold the organization’s cleanliness standards.
Housekeepers are responsible for cleaning and disinfecting a variety of areas including hospital corridors, lounges, nursing stations, offices, patient rooms, and other designated spaces. This job requires not only routine cleaning activities but also specialized tasks such as burnishing floors and managing regulated medical waste. Burnishing is an important task to maintain the appearance and safety of floor surfaces, contributing to a clean and professional environment. Handling, collecting, and transporting trash and regulated medical waste safely and efficiently are essential functions that protect both hospital personnel and patients.
In addition to cleaning duties, the role involves equipment preparation and maintenance, including mixing chemicals safely, reporting equipment malfunctions, and managing supplies necessary for daily operations. The housekeeper must also perform safety inspections to identify any hazards or patient concerns and report these promptly to supervisors. Supporting other hospital functions by moving furniture when needed and hanging curtains is part of the role, making this position vital in maintaining both the functional and aesthetic quality of the hospital environment.
The position requires at least one year of hospital housekeeping experience and the physical ability to fulfill demanding duties that involve mobility and strength. No formal education certifications are required, but candidates must demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who take pride in providing a clean, safe, and welcoming healthcare environment and are committed to continuous improvement in environmental health services. CareWell Health provides a supportive work atmosphere and values the contributions of its environmental services personnel in enhancing patient and staff safety and comfort.
