The Opening Coordinator role at CEC Entertainment, known internally as a critical position in store operations, plays a vital role in setting the stage for memorable guest experiences. This position involves preparing the store environment before the arrival of children and families to ensure games, food, prizes, and fun are ready and engaging. This responsibility carries significant opportunity and influence in the daily success of each venue. The Opening Coordinator helps maintain high standards by overseeing product quality, cleanliness, and safety compliance. They are accountable for shift profitability through managing cost control, inventory, labor, and proper cash handling.
The role requires decisions around shift scheduling, personnel placement, birthday party setup, and staff supervision. CEC Entertainment offers commission plans for this role, with variable earnings per membership and Fun Pass sold, paid out bi-weekly. Additionally, the position is eligible for a unique "Work Today, Get Paid Tomorrow" program, enabling immediate access to earned wages.
Candidates for this position must demonstrate strong coaching, communication, composure, resourcefulness, and time management skills to help lead and develop team members in a dynamic, fun-filled environment. The role requires working 35+ hours weekly, availability on weekdays and weekends, and the capacity to perform physical tasks related to the work environment, such as lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods. Job Requirements
- Must be able to work 35+ hours a week
- Must be able to work weekdays mornings to mid-afternoon and anytime during weekends
- Must have a high school diploma or GED or be in process of obtaining either
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Minimum of six months supervisory experience preferably in food service or validation as CEC Team 2 Trainer
- Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing 0-50 pounds during scheduled shift
- Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, reach, push/pull, walk and squat during scheduled shift
- Work environment includes flashing and flickering lights, moving mechanical parts, loud noise, and exposure to non-weather related wet, humid, extreme heat and cold conditions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or in process of obtaining
- Minimum six months supervisory experience preferably in food service or validated as CEC Team 2 Trainer
- Strong coaching and developing skills
- Effective communication
- Ability to maintain composure
- Resourcefulness
- Skilled in time and priority management
Job Duties
- Make daily decisions that ensure product quality, store cleanliness and other company standards are met
- Understand cost control procedures, financial accounting, inventory levels and labor management
- Monitor shift profitability
- Know, understand and execute proper cash handling and safe procedures
- Set up shift board and personnel positioning
- Receive deliveries and follow all security procedures
- Ensure birthday parties are set up and appropriate personnel are scheduled and assigned to assist parties
- Evaluate birthday survey and results
- Supervise cast members
