Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, event planning, or a related field preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with clients and vendors
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain high standards and troubleshoot problems as they arise
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with event management software is a plus
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as events may require
  • Must be able to work strictly on-site in Chicago, IL

Job Duties

  • Assist in the planning and coordination of various events such as corporate meetings, conferences, and social gatherings
  • Communicate with clients to understand their event goals and requirements
  • Research and negotiate with venues, caterers, and vendors to secure the best options for events
  • Develop and manage event timelines and checklists to ensure all tasks are completed on schedule
  • Assist in the creation of event marketing materials, including brochures, invitations, and social media content
  • Support on-site event management, helping to coordinate logistics and resolve any issues that arise
