Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • No prior culinary experience required but a passion for cooking is important
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and company procedures
  • Ability to maintain food safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work various shifts
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of cooking and preparation equipment
  • Basic cooking skills such as sautéing, broiling, frying, roasting, butchery, garde manger, pantry, breakfast cookery
  • Culinary education or apprenticeship preferred but not mandatory
  • Ability to stand and move rapidly for long periods of time

Job Duties

  • Learn and practice all job duties of a culinarian in training
  • Utilize company food and beverage procedures as well as health department regulations and federal guidelines
  • Follow proper food handling and storage procedures
  • Maintain food cost and labor cost
  • Check freshness of foods and ingredients, ensure all recipes and portion-use records are followed
  • Be aware of guest feedback scores and work to positively influence rankings
  • Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between coworkers
  • Perform other duties as assigned
