Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • basic knowledge of cooking and food preparation
  • ability to follow instructions and learn new skills
  • culinary education or apprenticeship preferred
  • ability to stand and move at a fast pace for long periods
  • willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of cooking and preparation equipment
  • basic cooking skills including sautéing, broiling, frying, roasting, butchery, garde manger, pantry, breakfast cookery, etc.
  • culinary education or apprenticeship is preferred but not mandatory
  • ability to stand and move at a fast pace for long periods of time

Job Duties

  • Learn and practice all job duties as a culinarian in training
  • utilize company food and beverage procedures along with health department regulations and federal guidelines
  • follow proper food handling and storage procedures
  • maintain food cost and labor cost controls
  • check freshness of foods and ingredients, ensure all recipes and portion-use records are followed
  • be aware of all guest feedback scores and work to positively influence rankings
  • foster a climate of cooperation and respect between coworkers
  • perform other duties as assigned
