The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is a vital position responsible for assisting the food service manager with the preparation and serving of meals, maintaining cash receipts, and keeping accurate meal records. Your duties will also encompass serving food in a manner that promotes customer satisfaction, adding garnishments for appealing presentation, and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in food preparation and storage areas.
Additionally, this position involves supporting major cleaning efforts of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking equipment, as well as keeping counters, steam tables, and other kitchen surfaces sanitized. The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods, and requires the use of uniforms and personal protective equipment when necessary. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Food service certificate as needed
- Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure
- Physical ability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, walking, and standing for extended periods
- Willingness to wear required uniforms and personal protective equipment
- Flexibility to perform various duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
- Food service certificate as needed
- Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure
Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- Understand what is inclusive of a meal
- Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- Timely preparation of a variety of food items and beverages
- Add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Adhere to the uniform policy
- Connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- Supervise the food temperature requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
- Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- Meet physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing
- Use of personal protective equipment and uniforms as required
