The role of Entertainment Manager within Disney Meetings & Events is a pivotal position that supports the Disney Event Group Entertainment Operations and Production teams. Reporting directly to the Producer of Entertainment and Production, the Entertainment Manager is entrusted with the oversight, coordination, and presentation of entertainment offerings at conventions and events throughout Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts. This position is based on-site in Florida and requires a dynamic leader capable of managing multiple aspects of live entertainment production. The Entertainment Manager ensures that all entertainment elements, ranging from characters and stage shows to atmospheric entertainment, are delivered with the highest quality and aligned with Disney's creative vision and guest experience standards.
This role demands a comprehensive understanding of the entertainment production process, including artist management, technical coordination, scheduling, costuming, cosmetology, and scenic design. The Entertainment Manager works closely with performers, technicians, clients, partners, and other Disney departments to guarantee seamless show execution. This position also involves labor tracking, payroll oversight, and compliance with various union agreements such as AEA, AFM, IATSE, and Service Trades Union contracts. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software
- Understanding of labor scheduling and payroll management
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of union contracts and collective bargaining agreements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving and negotiation abilities
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, arts related field, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years experience in stage management, production, creative direction, technical disciplines or hospitality
- Demonstrated meetings and events experience or equivalent
- Knowledge of convention entertainment show production and entertainment operations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet
- Working knowledge of Walt Disney World collective bargaining agreements including AEA, AFM, IATSE, and Service Trades Union contracts
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, influencing, negotiating, coaching, and mentoring skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment with positive interpersonal skills
- Adaptability to various working environments
Job Duties
- Oversee entertainment offerings in conventions and events including characters, stage shows, and atmosphere entertainment
- Coordinate and present convention shows integrating and supervising all event/show elements including performers, technicians, costuming, cosmetology and scenic decor
- Supervise performers and technicians while partnering with clients, departments, teams, and business units
- Maintain creative intent and vision throughout events and live entertainment offerings
- Manage scheduling, payment, labor tracking, and reporting tools
- Provide oversight of day-to-day schedules and time sheets
- Interact with clients and guests to exceed expectations
