HRI Properties, based in New Orleans, Louisiana, is a well-established full-service real estate development company with over thirty-five years of experience. The company is recognized nationally for its expertise in the adaptive reuse of historic structures, showcasing a commitment to preserving architectural heritage while fostering modern development. As a vertically integrated firm, HRI Properties brings together a wealth of knowledge spanning development, construction, design, governmental relations, environmental matters, historic landmark designation, and property management. This broad skill set enables HRI Properties to deliver comprehensive and innovative real estate solutions while maintaining high standards of quality and sustainability.
Within HRI Properties operates HRI Management, LLC (HRIM), the multi-family property management branch responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of fifty-three multi-family developments totaling five thousand residential units. These range from luxury to affordable and mixed-income living spaces, complemented by over two hundred thousand square feet of office and retail space. The geographic reach of HRIM spans a five-state area, managing properties for HRI Properties, HRI Communities, and various third-party property owners. HRIM has earned a reputation for its long-term success, attributed largely to its dedicated associates and their positive impact on the communities served. The company values diversity and inclusivity, embracing individuals of all ethnicities, cultures, ages, and lifestyles, fostering a welcoming environment that promotes employee satisfaction and retention.
The Engineering Supervisor role at HRIM is vital for maintaining the overall quality and safety of the multi-family residential properties under its management. This position focuses on overseeing the property’s general condition, specifically addressing electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and painting needs. The supervisor is responsible for timely completion of maintenance work orders and actively participating in a preventive maintenance program to ensure that all building equipment and living units are functioning optimally. This role requires not only strong technical expertise but also leadership skills to manage and guide the maintenance team effectively.
The Engineering Supervisor serves as a key liaison, representing HRIM to vendors, contractors, and temporary staff. Duties include supervising the maintenance team, coordinating corrective and preventive maintenance, testing and inspecting equipment for safety and operability, and ensuring compliance with company safety standards. Additionally, the supervisor handles inventory management, organizes training for maintenance personnel, and leads various property improvement projects. This position demands a thorough knowledge of state, local, and federal housing codes and regulations related to maintenance. Safety is a paramount concern, requiring the ability to uphold rigorous standards and maintain a clean and safe environment for residents and staff alike.
Candidates for the Engineering Supervisor position should possess a minimum of two years experience in a similar role within the residential or apartment industry and must hold HVAC certification. Practical knowledge and hands-on skills in residential maintenance areas such as air conditioning, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, appliance repair, electronics, drywall installation, and finishing are essential. The role also entails physical demands, including lifting weights up to 125 pounds and climbing ladders for exterior repairs, highlighting the need for physical dexterity and stamina.
Working at HRIM not only offers a rewarding career but also a lifestyle enhanced by comprehensive benefits that promote professional growth and work-life balance. Employees enjoy medical, dental, and vision coverage, competitive pay, paid time off including holidays, career development opportunities through training and mentorship, and a supportive team culture with wellness programs and employee discounts. HRIM is an equal opportunity employer, committed to diversity and inclusivity in the workplace, inviting qualified individuals to join a team that values excellence, community impact, and employee wellbeing.
