Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- vocational or technical training
- minimum 2 years of experience in hotel engineering or maintenance
- valid driver’s license
- universal chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification
- ability to perform complex repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment
- ability to safely operate hand and power tools
- strong understanding of Lockout/Tagout safety procedures
- ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics
- physical ability to lift 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring bending, twisting, climbing, pulling, and stooping
- ability to effectively communicate with guests and team members
- willingness to complete safety training and maintain certifications
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- vocational or technical background
- extensive experience and training in general maintenance, electrical or refrigeration systems
- parts inventory and requisition knowledge
- exterior and interior surface preparation and painting skills
- at least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience
- universal chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification
- valid driver’s license
- strong general mechanical ability
- proficiency in at least three technical categories such as air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and building management
- ability to read standard blueprints and electrical schematics
- advanced troubleshooting and repair skills in MEP systems
- knowledge of engineering computer programs related to preventive maintenance and energy management
- effective communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to train and mentor others
Job Duties
- Respond and attend to guest repair requests
- communicate with guests and customers to resolve maintenance issues with little to no supervision
- perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment including cleaning and lubrication
- visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
- carry equipment such as tools and radio
- identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment
- maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed
- assure each day’s activities and problems are communicated to other shifts
- read standard blueprints and electrical schematics concerning plumbing and HVAC
- perform highly complex repairs of physical property and equipment including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration
- troubleshoot and repair various equipment such as pumps, motors, plumbing fixtures, electrical systems, and internet devices
- use Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance work
- utilize engineering computer programs for preventive maintenance and energy management
- perform advanced troubleshooting of MEP systems
- train and mentor other engineers
- perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities including readings and rounds
- follow company and safety policies
- report maintenance problems, hazards, accidents, injuries
- complete safety training and certifications
- properly store flammable materials
- maintain clean and professional appearance
- maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
- protect company assets
- welcome and acknowledge guests
- anticipate and address guest service needs
- assist individuals with disabilities
