Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Currently licensed healthcare professional in state of operation
  • Valid and current license in good standing
  • Graduate of recognized healthcare educational program
  • Minimum of one year of healthcare experience preferred
  • Current CPR certification
  • Experience in plasma collection or blood bank preferred
  • Licensed as EMT-A, Paramedic, LPN/LVN, or RN per state laws
  • Medical credential evaluation clearance
  • Ability to handle physical demands such as lifting up to 50lbs occasionally
  • Willingness to work indoors in well-ventilated areas
  • Ability to handle exposure to bloodborne pathogens
  • Ability to comply with all company safety policies and procedures
  • Dependable attendance and adherence to grooming code
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain a respectful and calming environment
  • Available to attend training and educational sessions as required.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Currently licensed to practice in the state of operation
  • License valid and in good standing with licensing board
  • Graduate of recognized healthcare-related program such as Nursing or Physician Assistant
  • Emergency Medical Technicians with advanced experience may be approved
  • Minimum of one year as a licensed professional in a healthcare environment preferred
  • Current CPR certification
  • Plasma collection center or blood bank experience preferred
  • Appropriate licenses including EMT-A, Paramedic, LPN/LVN, or RN as allowed by state laws
  • EMT-B and EMT-I licenses recognized for employees hired before May 30, 2019
  • Ability to pass medical credential evaluation
  • Strong understanding of donor care and medical protocols
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Duties

  • Provides donor satisfaction through appropriate interaction and responsiveness to donor needs
  • Determines donor suitability by evaluating normal healthy donors for plasmapheresis procedures and immunizations according to SOPs, FDA, OSHA, CLIA, and cGMP standards
  • Consults with Center Medical Director as needed
  • Performs physical examinations for donors and reviews accumulated data to confirm donor suitability
  • Promotes donor education to encourage positive donor experience
  • Answers and discusses donor questions and informs about the opportunity to refuse participation
  • Explains and obtains consent for plasmapheresis and immunization, including potential hazards and adverse reactions
  • Provides treatment for donor adverse reactions such as hypotensive reactions, citrate reactions, allergic reactions, or local injury
  • Contacts emergency services if medical treatment exceeds individual scope
  • Notifies Center Medical Director if donors require emergency transport
  • Completes plasmapheresis and whole blood procedures
  • Ensures donor safety and monitors for reactions
  • Maintains accurate documentation
  • Administers immunizations following SOPs and manufacturer guidelines
  • Provides confidential counseling
  • Maintains emergency medical kit and equipment
  • Reviews test results and consults with Medical Director on abnormalities
  • Notifies donors of positive viral marker tests
  • Participates in safety committees
  • Educates staff on donor suitability
  • Manages employee immunization programs
  • Works according to the KEDPLASMA Employee Handbook
  • Complies with safety standards, company policies, and attendance requirements
  • Promotes company values and maintains a positive, respectful environment
  • Interacts tactfully and humanistically with donors, visitors, and staff
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as required.
