Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program
- Current state licensure or certification as EMT-Paramedic
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Completion of FDA approved Medical Support Specialist training
- Minimum two years clinical or hospital experience
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy in state of licensure
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program
- Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment as EMT-Paramedic
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
- Successfully complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Minimum two years of clinical or hospital setting experience
Job Duties
- Determine donor eligibility including informed consent management, AIDS education, medical history interviews, physical examinations, blood testing, and SPE review
- Evaluate and manage donor reactions and medical emergencies as outlined in SOPs
- Refer donors to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or complex medical issues
- Support employee vaccination programs including Hepatitis B and seasonal flu
- Manage employee incidents per EHS guidance and determine need for further evaluation
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized to support community pandemic investigations
- Provide center level support for environmental, health, and safety requirements
