Job Requirements
- Bilingual English/Spanish speaking
- Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT
- Current CPR certification required
- Ability to stand and sit for 2 to 4 hours per day
- Ability to bend and twist neck for 1 to 2 hours per day
- Frequent hand movement with ability to perform fast, simple finger and wrist movements
- Ability to make precise coordinated finger movements
- Frequent foot movement with occasional squatting, crouching, or sitting on heels
- Occasional walking, bending, and twisting at waist
- Ability to lift light weights up to 15 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs
- Hearing acuity
- Color perception and near and far vision correctable to 20/30 in one eye and 20/100 in the other
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups
- Willingness to work in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids, electrical equipment, and extreme cold
- Use of personal protective equipment required
Job Qualifications

- Certified/licensed as EMT Basic, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic according to state requirements
- Current CPR certification
- Experience working in a medical or healthcare environment
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to perform precise coordinated movements
- Ability to work independently and follow oral or written instructions
Job Duties
- Perform physical examination and establish medical history to determine donor suitability
- Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction
- Ensure donor and staff confidentiality
- Responsible for donor awareness to potential hazards
- Provide donor education regarding general health and counseling on unacceptable test results
- Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events
- Perform evaluations of any history of illness or medications to ensure continued donor suitability
- Assist in employee training
- Administer employee Hepatitis Vaccine program
