Job Requirements

  • current license or certification as applicable in state of practice in one of the following areas: certified hyperbaric technologist (CHT)
  • certified hyperbaric specialist (CHS)
  • certified hyperbaric wound specialist (CHWS)
  • certified respiratory therapy technician (CRT)
  • emergency medical technician (EMT)
  • paramedic
  • licensed vocational nurse (LVN)

Job Qualifications

  • current license or certification in one of the following: certified hyperbaric technologist (CHT), certified hyperbaric specialist (CHS), certified hyperbaric wound specialist (CHWS), certified respiratory therapy technician (CRT), emergency medical technician (EMT), paramedic, licensed vocational nurse (LVN)
  • strong attention to detail
  • good communication skills
  • ability to work well in a team environment
  • basic patient care knowledge

Job Duties

  • operate hyperbaric chamber and related support systems safely and efficiently
  • act as hyperbaric observer during treatments inside pressurized chamber
  • ensure hyperbaric observer is alert and attentive to patients
  • provide patient education and orientation about hyperbaric oxygen therapy
  • check patient vital signs and update patient chart
  • assist in start-up and shut down of the facility
  • complete equipment maintenance on time
