Job Description

The Senior Sales Manager role is a pivotal position within the hospitality industry, specifically at a dynamic, all-suite hotel located in Valencia, California, known for its contemporary comfort and exceptional guest service. The hotel is strategically situated just off Freeway 5, minutes from Six Flags Magic Mountain theme park, and less than 45 minutes from downtown Los Angeles, making it a preferred destination for both leisure and business travelers. As a Senior Sales Manager, you will be entrusted with the responsibility to drive the hotel’s sales performance and revenue growth by securing new accounts and maintaining strong client relationships. You will collaborate closely with the Director of Sales to achieve the hotel’s revenue and market share targets. The sales focus of the position is flexible and may entail specialization in Leisure, Business Travel, Group, or SMERF sales segments depending on the property’s requirements. This leadership role also involves mentoring and training other sales team members, fostering a motivated and high-performing sales force. As a management-level associate, you are expected to dedicate the necessary time to fulfill your duties, with overtime pay applicable for hourly employees.

Your key responsibilities will include proactive solicitation calls, client entertainment, conducting informative sales tours, and ongoing market trend analysis to stay ahead in a competitive market. You will be expected to represent the hotel professionally and courteously, ensuring all interactions reflect the hotel's service standards. Adherence to company policies, sales standards, and metrics is mandatory, alongside a deep understanding of the hotel’s operations and policies across departments. Maintaining visibility in the local community and industry organizations will be an important part of the role, potentially involving participation in special promotions like sales blitzes.

Security and trustworthiness are critical in this position, as you will have access to sensitive areas and information within the hotel, including the hotel safe, master keys, storage rooms, and secured files. Your role will also require safe driving on behalf of the company for business purposes, exercising sound judgment and upholding the company’s reputation with the utmost integrity.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of previous hotel sales experience
  • Valid driver’s license for the applicable state
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills to frequently negotiate, convince, sell and influence others
  • Experience with professional selling skills desired
  • Proficiency in general computer knowledge especially Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Strong organization and presentation skills

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of previous hotel sales experience
  • Valid driver’s license for the applicable state
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with professional selling skills such as opening, probing, supporting, and closing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products

  • Strong organization and presentation skills

Job Duties

  • Effectively attain assigned sales and revenue goals, as well as solicitation call goals, while also training and mentoring others to do the same
  • Proactively conduct solicitation calls, conduct sales tours, and entertain clients specific to Leisure, SMERF, Business Travel (BT) and/or Groups, as applicable by property
  • Monitor and evaluate trends within your market segment
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
  • Adhere to Aimbridge Hospitality’s established regulations, company standards, sales standards and sales metrics related
  • Develop a full working knowledge of the operations and policies of the hotel and applicable departments
  • Maintain strong visibility in local community and industry organizations, as applicable
