The Electrode Mixing Technician role at Saft is a critical position that ensures the effective and safe operation of mixing equipment used in the production of high power cells and batteries. Candidates for this role will be engaged in a challenging and dynamic work environment that requires adherence to strict safety protocols and precision in handling complex machinery. The role demands a keen attention to detail and a strong ability to follow process specifications carefully, including control of machine speed, temperature, vacuum levels, and mixing ratios. Working conditions include standing for most of the day in a specialized dry room environment featuring controlled low humidity and cooled air. The technician will be required to use protective personal equipment such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gowns, and a portable air breathing device to ensure safety around strong magnets and chemical presence.

This position operates on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule (2 days, 3 days, 2 days), providing candidates with a consistent work-life balance within a structured environment. The salary range for this position is competitive, between $22 and $25 per hour, aligning with current market standards. Job Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • At least 3-5 years manufacturing experience preferably running machinery
  • Basic computer skills
  • Outstanding attendance history
  • Able to wear a respirator full time during equipment operation and setup
  • Able to lift heavy material up to 50 lbs
  • Medically and physically capable to work in an environment with numerous chemicals and strong magnets

Job Duties

  • Work in an environment where safe work practices are required as well as always adhering to safety policies and procedures
  • Operate mixing equipment and become proficient in the machine's operations
  • Possess the desire and aptitude to become proficient in additional, more complex machinery
  • Set up, operate and maintain production equipment, machines and tools using process documents, diagrams, and written instructions
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition utilizing 6S standards while following all safety requirements
  • Follow instructions per process specs while manufacturing materials for use in high power cells and batteries
  • Accurately mix powders and fluids in precise quantities and control machine speed, temperature, and vacuum levels
