This position is an onsite production role based in Melbourne, Florida, focused on the operation of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) lines within the manufacturing environment. The role is critical to ensuring the quality and efficiency of production processes that deliver high-reliability aerospace components. The employee will be responsible for loading feeders, performing staging operations, monitoring production lines, and making necessary adjustments under close supervision to maintain the highest standards of workmanship and product quality.

The role requires a dedicated individual who meets U.S. person status requirements to comply with export control regulations and will train extensively to pass soldering assessments and other skill certifications. Job Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent such as GED or vocational/technical education
  • U.S. Person status as defined by law
  • Eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations
  • Ability to stand for 10 or more hours
  • Able to pass soldering assessment after training
  • Available to train on first shift
  • Willingness to work weekend shifts (Friday-Sunday, 6:00 AM-6:00 PM)
  • Compliance with company safety, ethics, and quality standards
  • Ability to participate in audits and continuous improvement events

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires HS Diploma or equivalent such as GED or vocational/technical education in related discipline
  • U.S. Person status including U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations
  • Career Readiness Certification (CRC) preferred
  • Experience with SMT operations
  • Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings
  • Ability to successfully complete required training modules
  • Ability to follow assembly instructions
  • Ability to work effectively in a repetitive job environment
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Understanding of end uses of products being built
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail for safety and quality
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Intermediate computer skills for typing, navigating, and learning software
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills

Job Duties

  • Perform staging operations and/or timely set up
  • Load feeders and verify components against job setup documentation and BOMs
  • Operate SMT lines, monitor production processes, and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Inspect own work performed to ensure a quality product which conforms to workmanship standards, engineering requirements and design specifications
  • Perform in accordance with productivity expectations to meet customer deadlines
  • Comply with all Raytheon Technologies rules and regulations including Environmental Health and Safety, Ethics and Compliance, Quality, and attendance requirements
  • Participate in cost reduction plans and continuous improvement plans/events
  • Participate in audits
  • Acquire applicable skills, knowledge, certifications and complete trainings as required
  • Maintain materials, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly condition
  • Report to lead or supervisor on work progress and updates
  • Complete assigned tasks within the scope and skill level of the job description to support department objectives and develop individual skills
  • Pass a soldering assessment after training provided
  • Perform other duties as assigned
