Job Description
Raytheon Technologies (RTX) is a renowned aerospace and defense company recognized for delivering advanced technological solutions and products globally. With a diverse portfolio spanning aircraft systems, avionics, and digital solutions for government, commercial, and business aviation sectors, RTX is committed to innovation and quality. The company operates multiple facilities, including its location in Melbourne, Florida, where it emphasizes manufacturing excellence and safety. Known for its commitment to employee development and operational integrity, RTX provides an inclusive work environment that fosters continuous learning and improvement.
This role is based onsite at the 1100 W Hibiscus Blvd facility in Melbourne, Florida. It is categorized as an onsite position, specifically on the 2nd shift from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM, Monday through Thursday, with initial training on the 1st shift. The position requires U.S. person eligibility due to export authorization needs and does not require any security clearance. The core responsibility involves performing specialized tasks such as soldering, hardware installation, and post-coating on avionics components once the candidate has been trained and certified. Adherence to high standards of workmanship, engineering requirements, and safety regulations is essential to ensure product quality meets the company and customer expectations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting their own work under supervision to maintain quality standards while working in alignment with productivity goals to meet customer deadlines. The role demands active participation in company initiatives such as cost reduction, continuous improvement, and audit activities. Furthermore, employees will be expected to obtain relevant skills, certifications, and complete training programs that enhance their professional capabilities. Maintaining an organized, clean work environment and effective reporting to supervisors are important daily functions. This role requires passing a soldering assessment after training, demonstrating the candidate’s technical proficiency and commitment to quality.
Raytheon Technologies values candidates who possess strong attention to detail, organizational abilities, and the capability to work efficiently in a team-oriented, fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position has an element of physical demand, including the ability to stand or sit for extended periods and eligibility for overtime work. An ideal applicant will bring basic proficiency in computer use, strong communication skills, and the ability to follow technical instructions and safety procedures carefully. The company offers a supportive and resource-rich setting that encourages career growth, with a large array of benefits and employee support programs designed to foster long-term success and well-being.
Joining RTX means becoming part of a team that redefines aerospace every day through innovative solutions and a dynamic workplace. Employees contribute to producing cutting-edge avionics products that enable global connectivity and safety in aviation, impacting passenger, crew, and military operations worldwide. This opportunity promises a career path filled with learning and advancement, in a role that combines technical skill application and continuous improvement within a collaborative culture.
