Job Requirements
- Associates degree from a technical school preferred
- Minimum 1 year related experience in utility industry
- Proficiency in Excel
- Experience with Infor software a plus
- Knowledge of scheduling, operations, and project management
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and teams
- Understanding of Rhode Island Energy policies
- Ability to use computer systems and MS Office
- Valid driver’s license and travel capability
- Knowledge of electrical overhead and underground line work
- Ability to influence and develop relationships with stakeholders
Job Qualifications
- Associates degree from a technical school preferred
- Minimum 1 year related experience in the utility industry (5+ years for senior roles)
- Knowledge of scheduling, operations, project and program management
- Understanding of Rhode Island Energy policies and practices and their effective application
- Strong planning and prioritization skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated personal accountability and commitment to performance excellence
- Proficiency in computer systems including utility work management and MS Office applications
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Rhode Island as needed
Job Duties
- Manage construction work and resource assignments efficiently to meet the Rhode Island Energy work plan based on workforce availability, performance, geographic and schedule optimization
- Schedule and coordinate short and long-term Opex and Capital construction projects for internal and external contractor crews, ensuring customer and project deadlines are met
- Manage internal Rhode Island Energy systems and processes to deliver comprehensive project folders to external contractors, including ordering materials, job cards, drawings and necessary paperwork
- Monitor work backlog to ensure timely completion of all projects
- Balance and coordinate external and internal resources to optimize short and long-term needs
- Review work undertaken by project teams for appropriate use of materials, tools, and resources and adherence to schedules
- Identify scheduling and resource risks and recommend appropriate actions
- Support divisional reliability activities by ensuring all tasks are scheduled and progressed
- Oversee bundling and prioritization of contingency and maintenance work for maximum efficiency
- Facilitate construction meetings with stakeholders for scheduling and compliance
- Act as primary contact providing guidance and support to third parties on construction schedules and decisions
- Manage project teams and projects independently
- Use direct persuasion to influence stakeholders
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders to support implementation of company policies
- Understand electrical overhead and underground line work
