Job Description

We are currently seeking energetic and customer-oriented individuals to join our team as Cashiers. This position plays a crucial role in the daily operations of our restaurant, acting as the first point of contact for our guests. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for taking guest orders accurately and efficiently, handling payments, and ensuring that each customer leaves with a positive impression of our brand. The role reports directly to the Assistant and General Manager, providing valuable support in maintaining smooth operational flow.
The position offers a competitive pay range of $20.00 to $30.00 per hour, with actual earnings varying based on several factors including the specific restaurant brand, prior experience, education, geographic location, applicable minimum wage, unit sales volume, hours worked, and potential overtime. This full-time role demands a high level of attention to detail, cash handling proficiency, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities involve following strict company food handling and safety procedures and ensuring compliance with government health regulations. Cashiers will be tasked with counting cash before and after shifts, recognizing and greeting guests, and using suggestive selling techniques to enhance customer experience and increase sales. Utilizing the Micro's point-of-sale system, cashiers will enter orders, correct any mistakes, and communicate any issues to management promptly.
The role requires constant interaction with guests, including collecting payments, giving correct change, providing receipts, and directing guests to additional service points such as the beverage and salsa bar. Cashiers are expected to maintain a friendly demeanor, swiftly resolve any issues or complaints, and contribute to total guest satisfaction. For drive-thru operation, the cashier must effectively manage order flow, use wireless or intercom communication systems, and work at a pace that meets or exceeds company service time standards.
Maintaining a clean and sanitized work area, assisting in expediting orders or supporting service assistants, training new cashiers, and performing other duties assigned by supervisors are also important aspects of this role. This position requires physical stamina, as it involves reaching, bending, stooping, scrubbing, lifting, continual standing, and walking, often under stressful and highly active peak periods. Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, cold, and odors is part of the working environment.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in customer service or cashier role preferred
- ability to work under pressure during peak times
- capability to stand and walk for extended periods
- strong attention to detail
- good communication skills
- basic math proficiency
- ability to follow food safety guidelines
- must be able to lift and handle moderate weight
- availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Follows company food handling and safety procedures
- counts cash before and after working register
- recognizes, greets, takes guest order, and uses suggestive and/or upselling for every order taken
- uses Micro's system to enter orders, corrects mistakes
- communicates to manager when void occurs or problem arises
- collects payment, gives guest correct changes
- gives guest receipt, points out beverage and salsa bar, thanks guest, and gives proper departing comment
- utilizes total guest satisfaction and pleasantly/quickly corrects mistakes and answers guest's questions
- maintains correct flow of orders at drive-thru window
- uses wireless or intercom communication system to communicate with guest (drive-thru)
- works at a pace that enables the drive-thru team to meet or exceed company service time standards (drive-thru)
- responsible for proper cash handling and any cash shortages and/or overages
- cleans and sanitizes entire work area
- regularly assists expediter and/or service assistant
- assists in training new cashiers
- periodically performs additional duties as assigned by direct supervisor
