The EHS / Facilities Manager role at Eaton's Aerospace division in Camarillo, CA is a critical position responsible for overseeing Environmental, Health, and Safety programs as well as facilities maintenance for the manufacturing plant. This position is full-time and requires the candidate to work on-site Monday through Friday. Eaton offers a competitive annual salary range from $125,000 to $183,000, reflecting the importance of this role and the qualifications required.

In this position, the EHS / Facilities Manager will ensure that the plant complies with all local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations, while also meeting internal corporate EHS standards. The role involves developing, implementing, and sustaining plant-level EHS policies and procedures, managing preventive maintenance activities, and troubleshooting facility equipment. A major priority will be to uphold the “Zero Incident Safety Culture” throughout the site by championing safety initiatives, conducting safety training, and leading emergency preparedness programs.

The successful candidate will prepare and submit necessary environmental permit applications and reports, manage waste disposal requirements, and maintain documentation related to safety and environmental compliance. They will develop and maintain required safety plans such as HazCom, Bloodborne Pathogens, Hearing Conservation, and PPE Assessments. Monitoring employee exposures and coordinating industrial hygiene efforts are also part of the responsibilities.

This role will lead investigations into environmental and safety incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective plans. The manager will conduct safety inspections of fire safety equipment, emergency stations, and general housekeeping to ensure all areas meet regulatory standards and company policies. Additionally, the position requires managing facility infrastructure capital projects and ensuring compliance with MESH (Mechanical, Electrical, and Safety Health) guidelines.

The Facilities / EHS Manager will supervise maintenance leads and oversee preventive maintenance plans to optimize facility performance without compromising safety or product quality. This includes designing department structures, job descriptions, training programs, and coach team members to develop functional expertise. The manager will also be responsible for budgeting and financial forecasting for EHS and facilities operations.

Working closely with plant leadership, the manager will ensure all risk assessments are conducted and mitigation steps are implemented, including compliance with FM Global standards. Security coordination to meet ITAR/EAR and Eaton security policies is another vital function of the role. The incumbent should possess strong communication skills to interact with all organizational levels from factory floor personnel to corporate executives and external regulatory authorities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • minimum 6 years of related EHS and facilities experience in a plant-manufacturing environment
  • minimum 2 years of experience managing people or equivalent experience leading project teams
  • must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • must be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR regulations
  • able to work onsite Monday through Friday at Camarillo, CA location
  • ability to relocate quickly if relocating assistance is utilized

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • minimum 6 years experience in EHS and Facilities management within a plant manufacturing environment
  • at least 2 years experience managing people or leading project teams
  • knowledge of local, state, and federal EHS regulations
  • experience with environmental permit applications and reporting
  • ability to develop and maintain safety programs and training
  • strong communication skills interacting with all organizational levels
  • experience with digital EHS applications preferred
  • capability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work independently
  • comfort working onsite in manufacturing environments
  • understanding of MESH compliance and risk assessments
  • budgeting and financial management experience

Job Duties

  • Champion and lead zero incident safety culture initiatives

  • manage contracts for maintenance services
  • ensure MESH compliance including LOTO and fall protection
  • manage facilities risk assessments and close identified gaps
  • create and manage yearly budget and financial forecasts for EHS and Facilities
  • coordinate plant security to ensure ITAR/EAR compliance
