The Food Service Crew Member role at EG America is a critical position focused on delivering exceptional food products quickly and efficiently while adhering to stringent food safety standards. Working within the food operations area, the Food Service Crew Member is responsible for greeting guests warmly and ensuring their experiences are pleasant and memorable. They take charge of preparing menu items following exact recipes and preparation guidelines while ensuring proper food labeling and wrapping. The position demands adherence to organizational policies concerning sanitation, food safety, and equipment upkeep to maintain a spotless and safe working environment. Operating the register efficiently is part of the role, minimizing wait times and facilitating smooth sales transactions when applicable.
Aside from food preparation, this role requires attentiveness to inventory levels on the sales floor, including monitoring coolers and hot food cases. Consistently rotating stock and maintaining a fully stocked environment ensures that the company achieves its goal of 100 percent product availability, which directly impacts customer satisfaction. Leadership qualities are essential as Food Service Crew Members are expected to lead by example by living the company values and aligning with programs and processes designed to enhance the guest experience. Flexibility is also important as the role occasionally involves other duties assigned by the Store Manager or their designate, particularly in the manager's absence.
This position is open to both part-time and full-time candidates, offering a variety of flexible schedules including day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts, given that some EG America locations operate 24 hours. Physical demands of the job include standing or walking for extended periods, lifting varying weights up to 40 pounds, and working in cooler environments. Specialized attire is a requirement to maintain hygiene standards in the food service area. Job Requirements
- No formal education required
- Preferred high school diploma or GED
- No prior experience required
- Preferred 3 to 6 months in retail or restaurant guest service
- Ability to stand or walk 8 hours a day
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds occasionally
- Must adhere to food safety and sanitation protocols
- Comfortable working flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 3-6 months retail or guest service restaurant experience preferred
- ServSafe or Food Safety certification a plus but not mandatory
- Comfortable interacting with guests and team members
- High energy and ability to move between activities quickly
- Team oriented and willing to assist others
- Basic computer skills helpful
Job Duties
- Greet all guests in a friendly manner to make them feel welcomed and appreciated
- When assigned to the food service area, ensure that recipes and food prep procedures are followed correctly
- Ensure that food is wrapped and labeled correctly
- Maintain clean food presentation and work areas, adhering to food safety and sanitization protocols
- Operate the register efficiently to process sales transactions minimizing guest wait time where applicable
- Monitor and rotate stock in coolers and hot food cases to maintain product levels
- Lead by example in execution of company values and policies
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or in their absence
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodations
