Job Requirements

  • Associate degree required
  • Five plus years’ experience in event management
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and grammar
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work flexible hours including occasional early mornings and late evenings

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Associates degree required
  • Five plus years of event management experience required
  • Marketing experience preferred
  • Proficient reading, writing, and grammar skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Professional computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign preferred
  • Certified Meeting Planning certification or equivalent industry designation desired
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of volunteers, members, and staff
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license

Job Duties

  • Own all logistical aspects of Association networking and educational events including Mile High Awards, TOBY Gala, Annual Golf Tournament, Sporting Clays Tournament, Speed Networking, Monthly Membership Meetings, and educational courses
  • Work with committees to ensure event success
  • Create and communicate event timelines, roles, and deadlines
  • Negotiate and review contracts and reconcile invoices
  • Ensure Executive Vice President signs contracts and codes invoices
  • Manage budgets pre- and post-event to meet or exceed financial goals
  • Provide budget updates to Executive VP, Committee, and Board
  • Provide marketing materials and design content for event agendas, programs, emails, signage, and presentations
  • Manage event setup in Association Management System (AMS)
  • Handle pre-registration and on-site registration for events and programs
  • Certify continuing education processes including submissions for approval by DORA, BOMI, LEED, and others
  • Manage sponsorship marketing and registration
  • Liaison to assigned Committees supporting achievement of Association Strategic Plan
  • Attend committee meetings and guide communication and meeting minutes
  • Answer, accept, and direct incoming calls
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support office and Association growth and efficiency
