Palco is searching for a highly skilled EDI Data Engineer and Product Analyst to manage and optimize their ANSI X12-compliant billing system. This hybrid technical and product-focused role is perfect for someone who thrives on solving complex data challenges while shaping system improvements. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of EDI transactions such as 837, 835, 276, 277, 270, 271, and 834, along with expert skills in SQL Server and MySQL databases. Responsibilities include analyzing, modifying, and optimizing data processes; writing queries; developing ETL scripts; and acting as a key liaison between internal teams and payor EDI/MMIS/MCO teams. This role also involves gathering requirements, translating those needs into technical specifications, and driving product enhancements, requiring the candidate to adeptly balance hands-on technical expertise with strategic product thinking. Strong communication and critical thinking skills are essential in ensuring seamless data flow, system efficiency, and compliance with payor requirements. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in EDI data engineering or a relevant data-focused role
  • expertise with ANSI X12 transaction sets 837, 835, 277, 276, 270, 271, 834
  • strong proficiency in SQL Server and MySQL database environments
  • experience developing and maintaining ETL workflows
  • demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • solid understanding of healthcare billing and payor systems, preferably Medicaid and managed care
  • excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • strong communication skills to effectively liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment
  • familiarity with scripting tools for automation like PowerBI
  • commitment to maintaining data security and regulatory compliance
