As a Duty Manager at Hilton, you will play a critical role in shaping first impressions and enhancing guest satisfaction. Your primary responsibility is to work closely with guests, offering personalized greetings, engaging in meaningful conversation, and providing assistance with various enquiries, especially for VIP guests, long-stay guests, and others frequenting the hotel lobby. The role demands a proactive presence in the hotel lobby and other public spaces, particularly during busy times, ensuring that every guest feels welcomed and valued.

The Duty Manager acts as the front-line representative of the hotel's commitment to quality, managing and resolving guest complaints promptly and efficiently to enhance their overall experience. You will be instrumental in coordinating special services and facilities for long-stay guests and meeting VIPs and major corporate clients upon their arrival. This position requires a thorough understanding of the hotel’s products, services, policies, credit procedures, and emergency protocols to maintain high operational standards and guest safety.

In addition to guest interaction, the Duty Manager is responsible for monitoring guest satisfaction reports and implementing strategies to improve these scores. The role also includes handling management issues or emergencies as they arise, conducting health and safety procedures such as fire drills and food safety investigations, and ensuring compliance with security protocols. Excellence in leadership, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure are essential to succeed in this dynamic role.

Job Requirements

  • Previous supervisory experience in front office within the hotel leisure retail sector
  • Good knowledge of health and safety and security procedures
  • Calm efficient and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent leadership skills and exceptional communication skills
  • A passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service
  • Possess strong commercial acumen with experience in increasing profitability in a tight market sector
  • Experience in managing budgets revenue proposals and forecasting results in a similar sized property

Job Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory experience in front office within the hotel leisure retail sector
  • Good knowledge of health and safety and security procedures
  • Excellent leadership skills and exceptional communication skills
  • A passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service
  • Possess strong commercial acumen with experience in increasing profitability in a tight market sector
  • Experience in managing budgets revenue proposals and forecasting results in a similar sized property
  • Previous role as a senior supervisor or duty manager in a similar quality hotel
  • A degree or diploma in hotel management or equivalent
  • In-depth knowledge of the hotel leisure or service sector

Job Duties

  • Occupy the hotel lobby and other public areas particularly at busy times
  • Engage guests in conversation and provide general assistance
  • Manage record and resolve promptly all guest complaints
  • Meet and greet VIP guests and major corporate clients upon arrival
  • Coordinate the services and special facilities provided to long-stay guests
  • Understand all credit procedures and ensure they are applied
  • Stay current with all hotel products services policies and emergency procedures
  • Monitor guest satisfaction reports and implement actions to improve results
  • Handle record and follow through with management issues or emergencies that arise
  • Conduct any health and safety procedures including fire walks and food safety investigations
